Desi, Me and Mark

Here's my newest grandson, Mark, his momma Desi and Me! He's only 4 days old! What a doll!!! He has so much hair, I was tempted to put a bow in it!! Desi didn't like that!

Yellowstone

We went to Yellowstone while at the family reunion in July. I had never been so Stacey, Brian, The Shelley's and the Olsens took a day trip and went! It was so beautiful! I got to see Old Faithful and then Dave and I went back to Island Park while the Smith Clan forged ahead. Great day!!

Sister's Retreat

I have been to Utah for the last week for what we call Sister's Retreat. 5 out of 6 sisters were there and we missed Sandy!! We tied quilts for Conna, did a lot of yard work and I am so thankful Stacey loves to do yard work. We called her the Yard Nazi!! She kept us going!! She's amazing! It made me so thankful that I don't have a yard!!! My allergies went nuts there, thank Heavens for Claritin!!! By Thursday, we were done with the yard and decided to hit the quilt shops and that was so much fun!!! My mom loves to crochet around blankets so I gave her flannel for 14 blankets. Kristol and Debbie were troopers to use their machines to do the special stitch around it. I flew so I couldn't take my machine!!! I love spending time with my sisters and mom. This was hard on mom when we left! Today is Father's Day and I am missing my dad!! Kristol took the pics and so when she sends them to me I will post them. We were so busy that not much pics were taken. I did take a lot of pics of quilts I liked but not of the Retreat!!! Oops!!!

Latest Creation

I have been working on this quilt for me! I always make them for everyone else so I decided it was my turn. Kristol is doing the same pattern. I am going to Utah for a Sister's Retreat and will be taking it to a relative and she is going to quilt it for me!!! I will post a picture when it gets done!!!

Jury Duty

Dave has had the honor of doing jury duty! He has spent 2 days in downtown LA! Well, today he got dismissed! He was glad because the trial was to last 3 weeks!!! I always get out of it with my oncologist!!

The watermelon is almost as big as he is!!! I hope he puts salt on it like his grandma taught him!!! Boy, I wished they lived closer. It really sucks having them so far away!!! Love you Bubba!!!!

Wow, it's been 5 months since my dad passed away! Boy, I miss him! My parents were married 59 years! My only hope is Dave and I make it to that anniversary. How lucky I am!!

latest project

Here is my latest project I made for a friend. I am in the process of making me a king size quilt and had to take a break and did this. 2 weeks I get to fly to Utah and spend a week with 4 out of 5 sisters, my mom,and hopefully my sisters-in-laws!! and I am so danged excited. Nothing like spending time with family. Wished I lived closer to them but sometimes it's nice when they need a break to come here and see me!! Fun times!

The last few days have been very productive! I have been getting off at noon and coming home and doing spring cleaning! What a great feeling getting things done! I love the energy I have at noon. Since I have been on my cancer treatment, my energy level has gone way down so to be able to get some things done at the house has been a huge accomplishment for me!!! I am thankful for Dave, he never complains about the house or me. He's such a rock for me. I couldn't go through all this without him!!

We welcome our newest grandson, Rolando, into the family!! He was born 4-14-10, weighing in at a whopping 8 lbs and 12 oz and 19 inches long!! He looks just like his momma, Candice. Big brother LaTerrell has had a hard time with the new brother....sibling rivalry!! Desi is due in 7 weeks, July 4th, Independece Day!! She is anxiously awaiting for the birth of her son, Christian. Travis and Jessica announced this week that they are expecting in January! We are excited for all the new arrivals!!! This will make grandbaby #5 for us! I will be busy quilting and shopping for the new ones!! Nothing makes me happier than my grandchildren! Dave comes close! LOL!!! I just wished they lived closer so I could be with them more!
